SBU detains “pilgrim” for spreading “Kremlin narratives” in social networks

The Security Service of Ukraine in Ternopil region reported that a verdict was passed against a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of Dnipro, who was detained last year during a pilgrimage to the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra. The woman is charged with an article about spreading “Kremlin narratives” and justifying the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This is reported by the press service of the department.
“The court’s verdict against another pro-Russian Internet agitator has entered into force. Thanks to the SBU’s evidence base, the Court of Appeal upheld the sentence of 1.5 years in prison for a 58-year-old resident of Dnipro who spread Kremlin propaganda narratives online. Last August, during the convict’s pilgrimage visit to the Pochayiv Assumption Lavra, she was exposed and notified of suspicion by the Ternopil SBU. The investigation established that in September 2022, the offender began to actively disseminate publications on the Internet about the need for Ukrainians to support the actions of the aggressor state and the validity of Russia’s occupation of part of the territory of our country. To do this, she used the capabilities of the Telegram messenger,” – the SBU said in a statement.
