Earlier, we reported that the Director of National Intelligence of the United States, Tulsi Gabbard, accused Volodymyr Zelenskyy of persecuting the opposition, violating freedom of speech and closing churches. Gabbard drew attention to the fact that there are huge problems with the observance of human rights and freedoms in Ukraine, and this issue is not being resolved.
Zelensky: In Ukraine, the state and the church are separate

Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the religious policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state claims that, unlike Russia, the Ukrainian government does not interfere in the activities of churches and does not impose religious beliefs on anyone. He said this in an interview with the American television channel Newsmax.
«Putin goes right under the bell and tells people how to be baptized. People can go to church, or to a mosque, or to a synagogue, etc. It is the will of the people. But he tells people how they should respect the Russian Church. Why? This is not even a state issue — it is a church issue. The state and the church are separate in most countries of the world, including Ukraine. But Putin shows: ‘This is my Russian world that I carry,’» — Zelensky said.
