Earlier, political analyst Konstantin Bondarenko commented on statements by representatives of the Ukrainian government regarding the implementation of anti-church law No. 3894, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The political analyst claims that the full implementation of the law will lead to a negative reaction from the US.
State has no right to demand canonical changes from UOC - religious scholar

Religious scholar and OCU lobbyist in the media Tetiana Derkach criticized the provisions of Law No. 3894, which aims to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Derkach emphasized that the law requires the Church to make changes to the canonical structure, which is essentially impossible in a secular state. She said this on the air of the YouTube channel Viche.
«When you open it, I’ll say it a little rudely now — almost every article there smells like, you know, hydrogen sulfide with garlic. All the emotions of the MPs who have invested in this law, all that revanchism, all that resentment that has been accumulating for years, it just explodes from every article. The state views the church not as a sacred organism, but as religious organizations-something like public organizations. But still, they are subject to mechanisms that would be imposed on ordinary public organizations. But this does not work with the Church. What the state demands from the UOC is, in principle, canonical requirements, but it has no right to demand and apply them,» — Derkach said.
