On June 17, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epiphanius Dumenko, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine, Valeriu Cîvîr, at his residence. Together with members of the Moldovan diplomatic mission, Dumenko discussed “challenges related to the activities of the Moscow Patriarchate” in both countries. This was reported on the organization’s official website.

It is reported that during the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues, with particular attention paid to the religious situation in both countries. They discussed challenges “related to the activities of the Moscow Patriarchate, which are used by the aggressor country as an instrument of destructive influence under the guise of protecting religious freedoms.”

On June 15, 2025, in Chisinau, police attacked a religious procession held by local Orthodox Christians in protest against a gay pride parade taking place in the city on the same day. Moldovan law enforcement officers brutally dispersed the procession, beating the believers.
