“I am not competent”: Trump's confessor admits he does not understand the Ukrainian church conflict

Well-known American pastor Mark Burns, who is part of Donald Trump’s circle of associates, noted that he is not competent in Ukrainian church matters. During his commentary on the subject, Burns was unable to recall the full name of the UOC and constantly added phrases such as “if this is true,” “many people say,” etc. Burns made his comments on the propaganda YouTube channel “Viche,” which is the information arm of the “Sofia Brotherhood.”

When asked by the host of the YouTube channel “Viche” how the US views the Ukrainian church issue, Burns replied: «I am not competent in this matter. I have heard both sides (Pastor Burns has never met with representatives of the UOC, ed.), but I can say that many believe that one of the Orthodox churches in Ukraine — sorry, I don’t remember its name — is associated with the Orthodox Church in Russia, which is an extension of the Kremlin. And it is used to spread sinister propaganda and promote the Russian “agenda” in Ukraine. And the church should never be used in this way. If this is true, then the church cannot be used. […] And if this is true, then I understand why many people disagree with this Orthodox Church (the UOC, ed.), which is in fact an agent or, at least, is portrayed as an agent of the Russian Orthodox Church.»

It should be reminded that American pastor Mark Burns, often referred to as Trump’s “spiritual advisor,” stated that the reports of church persecution in Ukraine are fake. According to Burns, the religious leaders he met with in Ukraine did not mention anything similar.
