The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Assumes Chairmanship of the AUCCRO

On July 16, 2025, a regular meeting of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) took place, during which the chairmanship of the Council for the next term passed to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine. In accordance with the internal rotation procedure, the new Chair of AUCCRO is the Grand Mufti of Ukraine, Sheikh Ahmed Tamim. This was reported on the organization’s website.
The meeting was held at the Bible House in Kyiv under the chairmanship of the previous head of AUCCRO, Valerii Antoniuk, leader of the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christian Baptists, who served in this role from January 1 to July 2025.
The transfer of chairmanship took place in accordance with the AUCCRO Statute, which provides for a rotational leadership model. Thus, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine is now chairing the interfaith platform for the third time in the Council’s history. The AUCCRO unites over 15 religious associations across the country.
Earlier, it was reported that on July 16, 2025, another meeting was held between the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (SSEFC), Viktor Yelenskyi, and members of AUCCRO. Among the issues discussed was Law No. 3894, which seeks to prohibit the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
