Metropolitan Vissarion Returns to Services After Successful Heart Surgery

Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten has resumed liturgical services after undergoing heart surgery. The procedure took place on July 20 and was successful. This is reported by the Orthodox Christianity website.

On July 24, His Eminence celebrated the festive Liturgy for the patronal feast of the Chapel of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Saint Olga at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the city of Korosten.

Metropolitan Vissarion also led the service on the feast day of Saint Vladimir the Equal-to-the-Apostles and the Baptism of Rus’ at the Church of St. Basil the Great in Ovruch. After the Liturgy, he led a procession to the monument to Saint Vladimir, where he served a thanksgiving moleben.

As previously reported, Metropolitan Vissarion (UOC) was urgently hospitalized at the Shalimov Institute in Kyiv. According to sources close to the diocese, he had already undergone one complex heart surgery and required a second one. His condition remained serious. Faithful of the diocese called for fervent prayers for their archpastor, whom they consider a true confessor of the Orthodox faith.
