Metropolitan Vissarion Hospitalized Again in Serious Condition

Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten, a hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, is in extremely serious condition and requires urgent medical intervention. On August 4, 2025, the bishop is scheduled to be re-hospitalized at the A.A. Shalimov National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology in Kyiv, where he is expected to undergo a second operation. This was reported by Pravlife.

It is known that the hierarch’s condition deteriorated sharply, and he is to be returned to the medical facility the following day.

“His indicators are very poor, and the bishop requires a repeat surgery,” the message states.

The faithful of the Ovruch Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are asking everyone for prayerful support for their archpastor.

It should be recalled that Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten had returned to liturgical service after undergoing heart surgery. The operation took place on July 20 and was successful. Already on July 24, the bishop led the festive Liturgy in honor of the patronal feast of the chapel dedicated to Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga at the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the city of Korosten.
