Israeli authorities staged a provocation near the Al-Aqsa Mosque

On August 3, 2025, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and a group of Knesset members stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and staged a provocation on the premises. Palestinian representatives claim that Israeli officials performed Talmudic rituals in the mosque. This was reported by Radio 1.

The Palestinian Ministry of Waqf and Religious Affairs said that the incident at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on August 3 was “a blatant provocation against Muslims around the world.” According to the WAFA news agency, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Knesset members, and Jewish settlers entered the sanctuary under the protection of Israeli forces.

The ministry stressed that the actions of Israeli officials violate the sanctity of the Islamic complex and the exclusive religious rights of Muslims.

The statement reads: “Islamic shrines are increasingly subject to daily violations by Jewish settlers acting under the protection of the far-right Israeli government, which seeks to establish control over both Islamic and Christian religious sites.”

We recall that recently, Orthodox, Catholic, and Melkite clergy issued a public statement on the escalation of violence against the Christian community in the city of Taybeh, which remains the last entirely Christian settlement in Palestine. They called on international institutions and church organizations to intervene and document crimes that, according to them, are becoming systematic.
