Trump's confidant said that in Alaska, the US president will “hold Putin accountable”

American pastor Mark Burns, who is part of Donald Trump’s circle of associates, has stated that at the upcoming meeting between the US and Russian presidents, which will take place on August 15 in Alaska, Donald Trump will “hold Vladimir Putin accountable.” Burns believes that the meeting between the US and Russian leaders means that Putin is “cornered” and therefore forced to make a choice that does not suit him. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
“Inviting Putin to the US is not an honor. It is cornering him. It is not a celebration. It is a confrontation. The meeting in Alaska is aimed at holding Putin accountable face to face, under the gaze of the whole world, and forcing him to make a choice that could end the bloodshed. President Trump is demonstrating true leadership, which is ready to directly confront evil in order to stop it, rather than avoiding it for the sake of appearances,” – Burns wrote on his social media.
Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin recently made it clear once again that the Ukrainian church issue will be one of the topics of future peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that “the independence and dignified conditions of the Orthodox Church” should also form the basis for long-term peace between the two countries.
