On July 24, 2025, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church held its regular meeting in Moscow. Among the decisions adopted at the meeting was a resolution on the names of the canonical parts of the Russian Orthodox Church, according to which foreign exarchates and metropolitan districts are obliged to indicate their affiliation with the Moscow Patriarchate in their names. The topic was discussed using the example of the Belarusian Exarchate.
The Belarusian Church has once again changed its name

The Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate (Belarusian Orthodox Church) has once again changed its name. This is the second change in the name of the Belarusian Church, which was made following a decision by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. This was reported by Nasha Niva.
It is noted that in July, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church stated that the Belarusian Orthodox Church does not use any reference to its affiliation with the Moscow Patriarchate in its name. In early August, the Belarusian Orthodox Church changed the name on its website logo to “Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate.” The actual name “Belarusian Orthodox Church” was written in parentheses.
This time, the Belarusian Church again changed its name to “Belarusian Orthodox Church (Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate).” The reason for the new changes has not been disclosed.
