Dumenko met with the Mufti of Ukraine to discuss a “multicultural society” in Ukraine

On August 19, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epiphaniy Dumenko, received at his residence the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine, the Grand Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Ahmed Tamim, who currently chairs the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO), along with his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the parties discussed activities aimed at strengthening support for Ukraine in the Islamic world. This was reported on the OCU website.
“The discussion also covered upcoming advocacy trips abroad by AUCCRO representatives, responding to criminal Russian encroachments in Ukraine’s religious sphere, participation in international religious events to convey the truth about Russian aggression, development of a multicultural society in Ukraine, and other pressing issues,” the organization’s website stated.
It is also worth recalling that Dumenko attempted to explain why the organization has so far failed to establish a “Ukrainian cell” on Mount Athos. Dumenko claims that the construction of the OCU cell on Athos is being delayed because the organization allocates all its funds to support the Ukrainian army.
