Kharkiv Mayor Holds Meeting with UGCC Representatives

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov met with representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), including the head of the Philadelphia Archdiocese in the USA, Borys Gudziak. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to supporting residents, restoring the city, and assisting those affected by the war. This was reported by the Kharkiv news portal «Redpost.»
“We need housing, jobs, and kindergartens. But without spirituality, nothing will work. The war has caused us enormous losses. Yet faith helps us overcome these challenges. We are working so that after the victory, not only the city will be restored, but hope will also return to the lives of our people,” the mayor said.
In turn, Borys Gudziak spoke about the UGCC’s activities in the United States: “We help and support you in prayer. Today Ukraine is fighting not only for its independence but also for the values that unite all civilized countries. We want the truth about your struggle to be heard in every corner of the world.”
It is worth noting that from August 30 to September 6, another gay pride event, KharkivPride 2025, will take place in frontline Kharkiv. The organizers announced the event’s theme: “Together for Equality and Victory.”
