In Kharkiv, TRC officers beat and detained an archimandrite of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

An incident occurred in Kharkiv involving representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) and the police, during which a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church—Archimandrite Vladimir (Subbot) —was detained. The actions of law enforcement officers involved the use of physical force against both the clergyman himself and parishioners who attempted to defend him.
According to reports, the incident took place near a church under construction. Eyewitnesses to the incident claim that law enforcement officers and military registration and enlistment office personnel used violence, after which the archimandrite was forcibly taken to the TRC building. According to sources, the detainee’s health condition is a cause for serious concern: due to critically low blood sugar levels, an ambulance was called for him twice. At this time, the faithful are insisting on the priest’s immediate release.
As a reminder, we previously reported that in Chernihiv, employees of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) forcibly mobilized a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
