An incident involving a member of the clergy occurred in Kyiv: employees of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) detained Maxim Kostyuchenko, a cleric at a Kyiv church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the channel “First Cossack.”

The incident took place on October 22, 2026. It is known that the victim is a clergyman at the Kyiv church dedicated to St. Mark the Apostle and Evangelist. At this time, the detailed circumstances and reasons for the clergyman’s detention remain unknown; however, the priest has already been sent to a training camp to undergo military training.

As a reminder, we previously reported that an incident occurred in the city of Zolotonosha, Cherkasy Oblast, involving the detention of a member of the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Andriy Kononenko, who, despite having legal grounds for deferment, was forcibly taken to the regional recruitment center.
