TRC employees have forcibly mobilized the ninth cleric of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Employees of the Ternopil Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have forcibly mobilized the ninth cleric of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This time, the victim of the military was Deacon Vasily Marko, a cleric of the Cathedral of the Ternopil Diocese of the UOC in honor of the holy martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov, and Sophia. This was reported by the press service of the diocese.

“Dear brothers and sisters! The Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church asks everyone for special prayers for the cleric of the Cathedral of Sts. Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov, and Sofia in Ternopil, Deacon Vasily Marko. Yesterday, the Ternopil Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support took Deacon Vasily and has not yet released him! We also ask for prayers for the mobilized priests of the Ternopil Diocese: Archimandrite Paphnutius; Protopriest Igor; Protopriest Igor; Protopriest George; Protopriest George; Protopriest John; Protopriest George,” – the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported.

We remind you that on August 4, 2025, near the city of Kremenets in the Ternopil region, employees of the territorial recruitment center detained and forcibly mobilized a cleric of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Protopriest Serhiy Shymaylo. The priest was on his way to the feast of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God at the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra.
