The Vinnytsia region has the largest number of parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The Vinnytsia region ranks first in terms of the number of parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church compared to other regions of Ukraine. According to media reports, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zakarpattia regions are among the top three. This was reported by the regional publication hromadske.
It is reported that as of 2025, there are 9,792 such communities in Ukraine. For comparison, the OCU has 8,291 communities. No region of Ukraine is left without UOC communities. They are most concentrated in Vinnytsia (823), Dnipropetrovsk (636), and Zakarpattia (618) regions.
We will remind you that the Khmelnytsky regional media are concerned that despite the active raider campaign by local authorities to re-register communities and seize the property of the UOC in favor of the OCU, the canonical Church occupies a leading position in the region. Moreover, the Khmelnytsky region ranks fourth in terms of the number of religious communities of the UOC in Ukraine.
