We shall remind you that on February 7, 2025, while participating in the Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC, the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko made a speech in which he hinted at the need to renew Ukraine’s nuclear status. Dumenko complained that Ukraine once refused to give up nuclear weapons, which resulted in Russia’s invasion. Now, in his opinion, for the country to be able to resist Russian aggression, it needs «the very sword», thanks to which Ukraine will be able to withstand.
"Real peace is not pacifism": the head of the UGCC again spoke out against peace talks between Russia and Ukraine
The head of Ukrainian Greek Catholics, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, has once again opposed the idea of holding peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Shevchuk is convinced that «peace at any price» will be regarded as Ukraine’s capitulation and will lead to an even worse war in the future. He said this during a speech at the XII Gniezny Congress in Poland, the UGCC Information Department reports.
«Real peace has nothing to do with pacifism. The conditions of true and just peace can never appease the aggressor and pacify the victim. Otherwise, such ‘peace’ as a consequence of blind ‘right of the strong’ will only prepare the explosion of an even more terrible war in the future,» Shevchuk said.
