Volodymyr-Volynskyi City Council will allocate a quarter of a million hryvnias from the budget "to protect" the selected Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The city council of Volodymyr-Volynskyi ordered to allocate 257,000 hryvnias from the budget to organize security for the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi diocese of the UOC, which was taken away from the Church by the state. The funds will be used to install an alarm system in the cathedral and organize security for other premises that were expropriated two weeks earlier. The corresponding decision was made during the 52nd extraordinary session of the City Council, reports the publication «Konkurent».
According to the head of the community Igor Palonka, the deputies supported the allocation of 257 thousand hryvnias in the form of a subvention to the Volyn regional budget for the State Historical and Cultural Reserve «Ancient Vladimir». The funds will be used to provide security and installation of alarm systems for the complex of structures of the Assumption Cathedral.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that the state executors have completed the process of inventory of property and transfer into state ownership of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, which was taken away from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on October 8. Thus, three historical buildings on the territory of the complex were transferred to state ownership, and the Church’s access to them was completely restricted.
