Polish Orthodox Church called for the convening of the Pan-Orthodox Council

The Holy Council of Bishops of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, held on October 27 under the presidency of His Beatitude Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw and All Poland, took an important initiative. Having considered the current situation in world Orthodoxy, the hierarchs called for the convening of an All-Orthodox Council to overcome the existing divisions. The meeting also discussed internal issues, including the teaching of religion in schools and the activities of church structures.
According to the Greek news agency Romfea.gr, the central topic of discussion on external affairs was the situation in the Orthodox world. The Council reaffirmed its earlier position on church schisms and concluded that it is necessary to convene an All-Orthodox Council of bishops of the entire Orthodox world in order to cure them. In addition, information was heard on the progress of theological dialogues with the Roman Catholic and Evangelical Churches, as well as on cooperation with the World Council of Churches.
We shall remind you that earlier the hierarch of the UOC Metropolitan of Cherkasy and Kanev Theodosius appealed to the head of the Church of Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew with a call to consider the Ukrainian church issue at the Pan-Orthodox level. The bishop is convinced that recognizing the Ukrainian schismatics and granting them the Tomos of autocephaly was a fatal mistake that could split world Orthodoxy.
