A priest of the Bulgarian Church congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry on his birthday

The clergyman of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Priest Vasily Vasilev, sent a congratulatory address to the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufryi of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on the occasion of his birthday. The address expresses deep respect for the Metropolitan and emphasizes his role as the guardian of canonical Orthodoxy in Ukraine.
In his letter, priest Vasyl Vasilev from the city of Shumen calls Metropolitan Onufriy’s life “a living testimony of what it means to follow Christ not only in word, but also in deed”. It is especially noted that in the “days of trials and sufferings for the Church” the Primate of the UOC remains an unshakable pillar of the true Orthodox faith and the guardian of the canonical order that comes from the holy apostles.
On behalf of his parishioners and “all Orthodox Bulgarians who keep love for the brotherly Ukrainian people”, the author of the letter conveyed the warmest fraternal congratulations. He expressed prayerful wishes for health, spiritual strength, longevity and unquenchable grace in his archpastoral service in God’s field.
The congratulatory message concludes with a prayer that the Lord strengthens Metropolitan Onufry and all his flock – the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church – “in the peace of the Holy Spirit, in patience, unanimity and love”. This message emphasizes the spiritual connection and support from the representatives of the fraternal Local Church.
Recall that earlier we reported that with the blessing of Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovchansk, a new publication of the Lovchansk Diocese – a collection of “Words, Messages, Answers” by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine – was published in Bulgaria.
