In Rivne region, a new church built by the UOC community to replace the one seized by the PCU supporters was consecrated

on November 14, 2025 in the village of Sudobichi, Rivne region, the consecration of a new church in honor of the Holy Senseless and Wonderworkers Cosmas and Damian took place. The church was erected by the forces of the local religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to replace the shrine, which it lost in 2015.
According to the Information and Education Department of the UOC, the community lost the previous church as a result of a seizure in September 2015. Having no place to pray, the believers decided to build a new church, which was carried out exclusively with their own funds and donations from benefactors.
The rite of the great consecration and the first Divine Liturgy in the newly built church was led by Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostrog. His Eminence was accompanied by the clergy of the Dubensk district. During the divine service was offered a profane prayer for peace, victory of Ukraine and strengthening of all the faithful in faith, hope and love.
At the end of the liturgy, the rector of the church, Archpriest Andrei Mykytyuk, expressed his deep gratitude to the parishioners for their sacrifice and constant support throughout the years of construction. Special words of gratitude were addressed to the benefactor Andrei Biba for his considerable help. In conclusion, Vladyka Pimen addressed the gathered with words of support and gave everyone an archpastoral blessing.
Recall that on June 9, 2025, the day of the Holy Spirit, in the village of Gorbakov, Rivne region, the consecration of the newly built church in honor of the Holy Trinity took place. It is known that in May 2019, supporters of the PCU occupied the Holy Trinity Church in Horbakov, changed the locks and deprived the UOC community of access to the temple. Despite this, the religious community has made efforts to build a new temple.
