Court in Volyn recognized the eviction of the UOC from the Uspensky Cathedral as legal

The economic court of Volyn Region dismissed the appeal of the Holy Dormition religious community of the Vladimir-Volyn Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) against the actions of the state enforcer of the forced eviction from the Dormition Cathedral in the city of Volyn. The court recognized the actions of the executive service as lawful, confirming the legality of the process of returning the architectural monument to state ownership.

As Suspilne reports, at the session on November 18, the court considered the complaint filed by the lawyer of the Vladimir-Volyn diocese of the UOC against the decision and actions of the deputy head of the Vladimir department of the state executive service. At the end of the consideration, the judge Ihor Garbar refused the religious organization to satisfy the complaint, fully supporting the position of the state authorities.

Recalled, earlier the people’s Deputy of Ukraine Igor Guz held a working meeting with the odious head of the Volyn diocese of the PCU Michael Zinkevich. During the dialogue, they discussed key issues concerning the process of seizure of cult property of religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in favor of the PCU.
