The daughter of Hamas founder Juman al-Qawasmi told of a miraculous conversion to Christianity

The daughter of one of the founders of the radical Islamic movement Hamas, Juman al-Qawasmi, has publicly shared the story of her conversion to Christianity. According to her, the turning point was a miraculous vision of Jesus Christ, after which she found long-awaited peace and love, questioning her former beliefs formed within the rigid framework of Hamas’ Islamic ideology.
According to SPJ, Juman Al-Kawasmi spoke about her journey to faith. She recounted that from childhood, her family, like Hamas, instilled in her a deep hatred of Israel, Jews, Christians and even those Muslims who were not members of Hamas. «We felt like we had to kill them because that’s what the Koran says… Yes, it’s crazy, » the source quoted her as saying.
After spending 13 years married to a Hamas member, Juman began to have serious doubts about Islam after observing the Palestinian movement’s tight control over the Gaza Strip. She admitted that she never felt satisfied with her relationship with God within the framework of Islam and did not believe that God would be pleased with her. «Islam doesn’t give peace … I started to think: God, if You exist, I want to know You,» Al-Qawasmi revealed.
The turning point came in 2014, when Juman had a life-changing dream: the face of Jesus appeared out of the moon and He said in Arabic, «You are my daughter, don’t be afraid.» «I felt peace in my heart…for the first time I felt loved by someone, » Al-Kawasmi shared her experience.
Juman concluded her story by expressing her deep confidence in Jesus’ love for Muslims, «I really believe that Jesus loves Muslims. He loves so much! He wants us to be free from fear. He wants to see us free…. We just need to set our eyes on Jesus, and believe that He is the way, that He is the only way. And He is the greatest Man! No one else!».
Recall, earlier we reported that in Iran five Christians were sentenced to a total of more than 50 years in prison for religious activities, including participation in home services, prayers, Christmas celebrations and distribution of Christian literature. The Christian human rights organization Article18 reports that the verdict is yet another manifestation of the systematic repression of Christians in the Islamic Republic.
