President Sandu attended the meeting of the bishops of the Orthodox Church of Moldova

On Tuesday, December 30, the Metropolitan’s Residence in Chisinau hosted a bishops’ meeting of the hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. The event, chaired by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, was honored by the presence of Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
As Mitropolia.md reports, one of the central issues of the discussion was the need to form a correct and constructive tone in the interaction between the Orthodox Church of Moldova and state institutions. The goal of such cooperation is to serve the common good and to strengthen moral and spiritual values in the society.
During the meeting, Maia Sandu thanked Metropolitan Vladimir and members of the Synod for the Church’s sacred mission to bring society closer to Christian morality. The President emphasized the key role of the Church in maintaining spiritual balance and promoting moral responsibility.
In addition, topical issues were raised regarding the challenges faced by today’s young people and families. The importance of responsible cooperation between public institutions and the Church to support moral education, family unity and the dignity of the human person was emphasized.
The meeting, which took place at the end of the calendar year, served as an occasion to reaffirm the mission of the Orthodox Church of Moldova to contribute, through prayer and service, to the cultivation of peace and moral values in the life of society.
We would like to remind you that, according to the results of a survey conducted by IMAS company between November 18 and December 4, 2025, the Orthodox Church of Moldova (OCM) remains the institution with the highest level of trust in the country, receiving 61% of citizens’ support. This demonstrates the failure of the anti-church campaign of President Maia Sandu and the firmness of the PCM’s position in Moldovan society.
