The community of the Assumption Cathedral in Vladimir continues worship services after the loss of the church

The congregation of the Assumption Cathedral of the city of Vladimir, whose church was taken away by the state, continues its full-fledged liturgical life in a specially adapted room. This became a new stage after a significant part of the congregation was forced to pray in the open air due to the lack of a permanent place for services.
According to the Information and Education Department of the UOC, last Sunday, December 28, in the Week of the Holy Forefathers, the Divine Liturgy in the new premises was led by Metropolitan Volodymyr-Volynsky and Kovel Volodymyr, accompanied by the clergy of the cathedral.
Recall that until last week, December 21, parishioners of the expropriated shrine prayed in the chapel of All Saints of Volyn land. A significant part of this chapel actually served as an altar, which led to the fact that most parishioners were forced to pray outside. At the same time, as noted in the Vladimir-Volyn diocese, the cathedral itself has been empty for more than three months.
Before the beginning of the service a water blessing service was held, after which Vladyka Volodymyr sprinkled the new premises with holy water, blessing it for church services.
At the Litany of Supplication, special petitions for peace in the Ukrainian land were offered, emphasizing the relevance of praying for an end to the conflict.
After the service, the Archpastor addressed the clergy and faithful with a word of sermon and spiritual support, strengthening them in faith and hope in this difficult time.
Recall, earlier we reported that the people’s deputy of Ukraine Igor Guz announced the impending eviction of the Vladimir-Volynsk diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the chapel in honor of St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, which is located near the Holy Assumption Cathedral of the UOC of Vladimir, previously taken away from the Church by the state. According to the MP, the religious organization occupies the historical building without any legal grounds, contracts or permits, which is an unauthorized seizure of a religious building.
