Metropolitan Arseny's attorneys obtained a waiver of the operation

Metropolitan Arseniy, vicar of the Sviatogorsk Dormition Lavra, is still in the detention center. on January 6, it was possible to prevent his removal from the pre-trial detention center, despite plans related to a possible surgery, which the vladyka refused to undergo. These events are unfolding against the backdrop of the decision of the Dnipro Court of Appeal, which on January 5 rejected the defense’s complaint to extend the Metropolitan’s detention. This is reported by the press service of the Svyatogorsk Lavra.
According to information published by the Sviatogorsk Dormition Lavra, on January 6, Metropolitan Arseny was not taken out of the detention center, and in the near future such actions are not planned. This was possible thanks to the prayerful support of the faithful and the active efforts of the defense lawyers. The defense filed an official statement to the medical institution informing about the refusal of Vladyka Arseny from the proposed operation. The Metropolitan insists on the need for long-term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation, after which a surgical intervention in a specialized medical institution in Kyiv is already possible.
Earlier, on January 5, the Dniprovsky Court of Appeal refused to satisfy the defense’s complaints against the decision of the Chechelovsky court, adopted on December 6. According to this decision, the detention of Lord Arseniy was extended for 60 days.
