Political analyst warns of possible US sanctions against Zelensky over persecution of UOC

Political analyst Kostyantyn Bondarenko has said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and others involved in the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) will have to answer to the United States. In a broadcast on Oleksandr Shelest’s YouTube channel, Bondarenko said that the issue of persecution of the UOC will be actively raised in the United States, and it could lead to tough sanctions.

According to Bondarenko, a group of US congressmen and senators are ready to speak in defense of the UOC. In addition, Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna already actively supports the Church and even appealed to the Vatican on this issue. The expert emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities, most likely, are not afraid of responsibility before their own people, but the pressure from the United States can be a serious factor.
