"She has become too frequent": UOC-KP head Filaret Denisenko meets with Yulia Tymoshenko again

on February 3, 2026, the head of the UOC-KP, Filaret Denisenko, held a regular meeting with the head of the Batkivshchyna party and parliamentary faction, Yulia Tymoshenko. During the conversation, the parties discussed the current socio-political situation in the country and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to achieve a just peace.

According to Cerkva.info, the meeting was also attended by the rector of St. Volodymyr’s Patriarchal Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Borys Tabachek, and the head of the Office of the head of the Batkivshchyna party, Mykhailo Livinsky.

Yulia Tymoshenko congratulated the head of the UOC-KP on the significant dates he is celebrating at this time: 97th birthday and 64th anniversary of his ordination as a bishop. She praised Denisenko’s outstanding historical role «in the formation and development of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.»

«The Ukrainian people highly appreciate your many years of work and truly historic contribution to the construction of the Ukrainian Church. Thanks to your work, Ukrainian Orthodoxy has irreversibly set a course for independence and Ukraine-centeredness. We express our sincere gratitude to you for your prayers for the soldiers and Ukraine, thank you for the hope and faith you inspire in each of us,» the press service of the UOC-KP quoted Yulia Tymoshenko as saying.

Filaret Denysenko, in his turn, emphasized the exceptional importance of joint efforts to achieve a just peace. He expressed confidence that with God’s help Ukraine will find prosperity.

«Through our sincere prayer and faith in God, which shows our Christian love, the Lord will give us His blessing and help. And with God’s help, we can do anything. So let’s pray, have strong faith and show love to our neighbors by doing good deeds. And then Ukraine, with God’s blessing, will live in peace and prosperity,» Denysenko said.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the UOC-KP «blessed Yulia Tymoshenko for further fruitful work for the benefit of Ukraine.»
