Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria congratulated the newly elected Patriarch of Georgia Shio III

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa sent an official congratulatory message to the newly elected Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio III. In his address, His Beatitude wished the new head of the Church a long and blessed ministry for the glory of God, as well as peace and stability for the Georgian people.
According to Orthodoxia News Agency, Patriarch Theodore II expressed his hope that Shio III will have a fruitful high priestly ministry, which will bring spiritual benefit to the Christ-loving flock of Georgia. The message emphasizes the importance of preserving continuity and strengthening Church unity in the region.
In the text of the congratulatory message Patriarch Theodore II also emphasized his close spiritual ties with the late Patriarch Ilia II, with whom he was united by many years of sincere friendship and love in Christ. In addition, the head of the Church of Alexandria recalled the strong fraternal and ecclesiastical ties that for many years had bound him to the episcopate and the entire body of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
