There was an explosion at a Protestant church in New York City

In the state of New York there was a powerful explosion in the Protestant Abundant Life Fellowship Church, as a result of which five people were injured. Two of them are in critical condition. The incident, tentatively linked to heating with propane cylinders, caused significant damage to the building and raised a column of black smoke.
The explosion occurred around 10:30 local time in a rural area located about 80 kilometers northeast of the city of Syracuse, according to the publication Wtop. A total of five victims were hospitalized. Among the injured was a firefighter who suffered severe burns while responding to a reported gas odor in the building that preceded the explosion.
New York State Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion. According to preliminary reports, there are no indications of a criminal offense. Law enforcement authorities assume that the church could be heated with propane cylinders, which was the possible cause of the explosion. The incident was accompanied by thick black smoke and led to significant damage to the temple building.
Recall that on June 22, 2025, during the Sunday service in the temple in honor of the Holy Prophet of God Elijah in Damascus (Syria), a member of the radical Islamist organization “Islamic State” committed a bloody terrorist attack that killed 22 people. The terrorist stormed into the temple, opened fire on people, and after shooting blew himself up with an explosive device attached to his body.
