"Everyone but the UOC": Volyn deputy "apologizes" in original way on Forgiveness Sunday

Volyn regional council deputy and OCU lobbyist Andriy Bokoch made a curious statement on Forgiveness Sunday, publicly refusing to apologize to the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). He motivated his decision by the fact that the words of the UOC representatives, in his opinion, do not contain love and are aimed at inciting hatred.

Andriy Bokoch, who is an assistant to MP Igor Guz, posted a text on his Facebook account dedicated to Forgiveness Sunday. In it, he apologized «to everyone whom I have somehow hurt, offended, wittingly or unwittingly, by word, deed or thought.»

However, the deputy went on to clarify that he excluded supporters of the Moscow Patriarchate from his request for forgiveness (obviously, meaning the UOC believers — ed.). «But I cannot and will not ask for forgiveness from the supporters of the Moscow Patriarchate, from whose mouths there are showers of curses — there is no love for one’s neighbor in their words, only incited hatred. Forgiveness cannot be false and cannot justify evil. And I do not forgive the orcs and their henchmen,» Bokoch said.

Earlier, Andriy Bokoch, who regularly advocates for the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Volyn region, called on law enforcement agencies to hold preventive conversations with UOC priests. Bokoch claims that conflict situations often arise because of representatives of the UOC in the Volyn region.
