US played a key role in the release of Metropolitan Arseniy of the UOC from detention

Greek church publication Romfea reports that the United States of America has exerted decisive pressure, leading to the release of Metropolitan Arseniy of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). After nearly two years of detention without trial, the hierarch has been transferred to house arrest.
According to Romfea, this development was not solely a judicial decision, but the result of prolonged and coordinated political pressure from Washington. International lawyer Robert Amsterdam publicly expressed his gratitude to the participants of the St. John’s Society’s Congressional Day of Action in support of the UOC, describing it as a significant lobbying initiative in the U.S. Congress to address religious freedom issues.
Romfea emphasizes that when U.S. lawmakers raise such issues, especially given the substantial support of the United States for Ukraine, the political implications are significant. It is assumed that the increased international attention and pressure contributed to the fact that the administration of Volodymyr Zelensky decided to place the hierarch under house arrest.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that Metropolitan Arseniy will be under house arrest in Kyiv Region.
