UOC-KP hierarch reports death threats from OCU representatives

The head of the Odesa-Balta Diocese of the UOC-KP, Nikon Grablyuk, issued an official statement in which he reported threats to his life and health, which he said came from representatives of the OCU. The incident occurred after the funeral ceremony of Filaret Denisenko.

According to Hrabliuk on his Facebook account, on the way to the hotel, two unidentified men approached him and began threatening him with physical violence. Nikon regarded this incident as a serious attempt on his life. In this regard, he also warned the clergy of the Odesa-Baltsk Diocese of the UOC-KP about the potential danger and possible threats against them.

In an official appeal to law enforcement agencies, Nikon called on the police to pay attention to the situation. He directly emphasized that in the event of his sudden disappearance or death, the full responsibility would be placed on the representatives of the OCU.

Earlier it was reported that representatives of the UOC-KP were unable to take part in the official burial ceremony of their spiritual leader Filaret Denisenko, citing pressure and threats from supporters of the OCU. Due to the inability to attend the main burial rite, the newly elected head of the organization, Nikodim, held an alternative funeral service and announced a forty-day period of intense prayers in all communities of the structure.
