In Zhytomyr region, the rector of the UOC church was detained and handed over to the TCC

In Zhytomyr Region, law enforcement officers detained a cleric of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and handed him over to representatives of the territorial center for recruitment. According to the Telegram channel «Pershiy Kozatskyy», the detainee turned out to be a priest Ilya, who is the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Novye Vorobyi.

According to the information provided, physical force was used against the clergyman during the detention. Eyewitnesses and sources report that the police used pepper spray, as a result of which the cleric was in a serious condition for a long time and needed medical assistance. However, despite repeated requests from the detainee, the TDC officers refused to call a doctor for him.

At the moment it is reported that the priest Ilya has already been sent to the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade, where he is held on the territory of the military unit.
