In Transcarpathia, residents blocked the highway because of the detention of a UOC priest by TCC employees

A mass protest of local residents has erupted in Khust district of Transcarpathian region in response to the actions of representatives of the Territorial Completion Center (TCC). The reason for the social explosion was the forced detention of the clergyman of the Mukachevo diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Archpriest Sergiy Lyakh, which led to the blocking of transportation in the village of Lipcha. This was reported to Raskolam.net from its own sources.
According to Raskolam.net, the inhabitants of the village went on a spontaneous protest and blocked the passage for transport. The main demand of the protesters is to provide official explanations for the detention of their priest and immediate disclosure of information about his current whereabouts.
According to eyewitness reports, the detention of Fr. Sergius was violent in nature, causing a wave of outrage in the community. At the moment the whereabouts of the clergyman remains unknown, and the protesters call for public support and demand transparency in the actions of law enforcement and military structures in the region.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that the popular Greek ecclesiastical publication Romfea published a material in which it paid attention to the illegal forced mobilization of clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The publication notes that despite the existence of legislative norms providing for exemptions or alternative forms of service for clergy, employees of territorial manning centers (TMC) continue the practice of forcibly recruiting priests for military service, which is of serious concern to human rights activists.
