The Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s mobilization hotline has provided assistance to more than 60 clergy members

A special hotline set up to provide legal support to clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has already received 64 inquiries. The main topics of the consultations have been issues related to mobilization, the rules for military service, and the legal procedures for obtaining deferments.
According to , Archpriest Nikita Chekman, a lawyer for the UOC, , the project’s lawyers conduct an individual analysis of each situation reported, providing clergy and their family members with expert advice on protecting their rights in their dealings with representatives of the territorial recruitment centers (TCCs).
The initiative was launched in response to the increasing number of cases of forced mobilization among the clergy. Currently, the advisory center continues to operate around the clock, providing legal support to clergy members by phone at +38 (093) 000-84-42.
