Strengthening Ties: The Orthodox Church in America and the Antiochian Archdiocese Discussed Future Cooperation

Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada and Archbishop Savva of New York and Metropolitan of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America held a working meeting in Washington. The talks were aimed at developing close cooperation between the two Orthodox jurisdictions and strengthening fraternal ties on the North American continent.
According to Zivotcrkve.rs, the meeting took place on September 28, 2026, at St. Nicholas Cathedral. Following an official welcoming ceremony and a tour of the cathedral, the hierarchs took time to discuss the current state and mission of Orthodoxy in today’s North America.
During the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on global developments in the Orthodox world and explored specific ways to expand cooperation. This meeting underscored the church leaders’ shared commitment to strengthening Orthodox unity and further developing interchurch dialogue in the region.
