The "reserve" will restrict access to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra during an air raid alert

The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve has updated its safety protocols for visitors during air raid alerts. According to Kyivschina24, the complex’s operations now depend on the alert level declared in the capital.
During a yellow alert, the Lavra continues to operate as usual. Visitors are free to purchase tickets, view exhibits, and participate in guided tours. However, the administration allows visitors to decide for themselves whether to continue exploring the grounds or seek shelter.
If a red alert is declared, ticket sales, guided tours, and access to exhibitions are suspended. During this period, reserve staff are required to direct everyone present to the nearest shelters, located in the Great Lavra Bell Tower, the Refectory Church, and on the grounds of the Art Arsenal at 12 Lavrskaya Street. The administration urges visitors to remain calm and follow the staff’s instructions.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged as a result of the shelling of Kyiv by Russian forces, is being prepared for large-scale conservation and subsequent restoration work. According to estimates by the reserve’s administration, the full restoration of this historic site will take about two years, after which the cathedral will once again be open to worshippers and visitors.
