Phanar churches in Turkey banned the wearing of Russian and Ukrainian political symbols

The Pisidian Metropolis of the Patriarchate of Constantinople published an announcement on social networks that the wearing of neither Ukrainian nor Russian flags is blessed in the churches of Antalya, Alanya and Side, Strana writes.

“In order to prevent provocations by the decision of the Pisidian Metropolis, the Orthodox churches of Antalya, Alanya and Side are not blessed with the wearing of flags (tricolor, blue-yellow) and symbols (including the St. George ribbon), badges, portraits, images that have a political context and are capable of sow discord among the parishioners,” the announcement said.
