The head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, Dawid Arahamiya, has announced the finalization of draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Arahamiya expects that the bill will be finalized by “consensus” with the involvement of all parliamentary factions and the State Service of Ukraine for Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience. David Arahamy sent a text message of the corresponding content to the party chat, the media reported.

“We have an agreement with all factions on how to move and come to a vote at the next session (from August 21). It is very likely that the law will be tweaked a bit but by consensus. I hope that the GESS (State Service for Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience) will also agree. Preliminary plan: until 15.08 – behind-the-scenes work on the international front. 15-20.08 – finalization in committee. 21-22.08 – voting in the Hall,” – wrote Arahamiya.

We will remind, earlier the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said that the next session of Parliament will begin with the consideration of the bill № 8371, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Stefanchuk believes that the time has come to put an end to this issue.
