Earlier, the chairman of the inter-factional association of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “For decolonization and dismantling of the Russian Empire” MP from the party “Servant of the People” Oleg Dunda commented on the further steps of the government after the adoption of the scandalous bill № 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Dunda believes that the public has too high expectations from this legislative initiative, and the UOC will not disappear from Ukraine even after the law is voted down.

An MP of the European Solidarity party, Sofiya Fedyna, has said that she sees no prospects for submitting to parliament draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Fedyna blames the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, for the lack of progress on this issue. About this she told in a commentary to the TV channel “Direct”.
“It is very interesting what should be now, because the “servants of the people” have very serious discussions and now it does not look like we will be able to vote soon. But I will emphasize again, that bill that is now on second reading is not an opposition bill, it is a bill that the government has filed. And the government submitted it because Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy, i.e. the president of Ukraine and the supreme commander-in-chief, gave the task to deal with the Moscow Church, as it poses a danger,” — Fedina said.
The MP added that her colleagues from the Servant of the People party are greatly influenced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, who, in her opinion, is blocking the submission of the bill No. 8371 on the ban of the UOC to the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada, despite the position of Volodymyr Zelensky on the issue.
“But in fact, the question here is whether the “servants” of Volodymyr Zelensky will obey, or whether they will obey Andrei Yermak, and who will be the main conductor in this whole story. The question is that there are the necessary votes in the Verkhovna Rada. This bill should be put to a vote. And we have already repeatedly said: bring it to the hall and let the deputies decide. If they do not vote, it will be a very concrete signal to their voters, supporters, citizens of Ukraine, who is who: who wants to guarantee the security of the Ukrainian state, and who serves the Moscow FSB.
