In Transcarpathia, believers managed to rescue two priests of the UOC from the TCS

On September 22, 2024, after the Sunday Divine Liturgy in the Holy Dormition Church in the village of Iza, Transcarpathian region, employees of the Khust territorial center of staffing, in front of the faithful people, took away from the temple two priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — clerics of the Khust and Odessa dioceses of the UOC. The abducted were two brothers — Archpriests Vasily and Stepan Huk. This is reported by the media.
After the incident with the abduction of priests began to gain publicity, the faithful parishioners of the Assumption Church in the village of Iza and other concerned believers of the UOC, as a sign of protest, blocked the roads and blocked the Uzhgorod TCS with a demand to release the detained clergymen.
Later it became known that closer to the evening, Archpriests Vasiliy and Stepan were released from the Khust territorial center of staffing. In exchange, the TCS asked the UOC faithful to unblock the roads and not to interfere with the work of the institution. In addition, Archpriest Vasyl Huk was issued a summons to appear in the local TCS in a month for military registration, and his brother Stepan was ordered to immediately leave Transcarpathian region and undergo a medical commission in the TCS of Odessa.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that the Uzhgorod territorial center for recruitment and social support forcibly mobilized and sent to the military training center the vicar of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery in the village of Tereblya, Tyachiv district, Transcarpathian region, Archimandrite Varlaam (Didenko).
