In Khustka diocese of the UOC commented on the detention of priests by TCS officers

The secretary of the Khustka diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Ioan Rozman, commented on the incident that took place the previous day between employees of the local territorial center of acquisition and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. At that time, it should be recalled, the employees of Khustka TCS, immediately after the Sunday service, detained two priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who were forcibly taken to the institution and held for a whole day, which provoked protests from the faithful of the UOC. The diocese said that believers are tired of watching priests being kidnapped with impunity on the streets of towns and villages in Transcarpathia. About it reports “Suspilne.Uzhgorod”.
“The people defended their priests, who were born in their village. People are against their priests being taken away. We can say that the workers of the TCS took them away under the temple. The people saw this. Then people blocked the road in the village of Iza, and also went to the Khust military enlistment center. These are two brothers whose father died recently, and Father Stepan came to Transcarpathia for a few days to attend his father’s funeral,” — Archpriest Ivan Rozman said.
Remind you, that on September 22, 2024, after Sunday Divine Liturgy in the Holy Dormition Church in the village of Iza, Transcarpathian region, employees of the Khust territorial recruitment center, in front of the faithful people, took away from the temple two priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — clerics of the Khust and Odessa dioceses of the UOC. The abducted were two brothers — Archpriests Vasyl and Stepan Guk. After the incident with the abduction of the priests began to gain publicity, parishioners of the Dormition Church in the village of Iza and other concerned believers of the UOC, as a sign of protest, blocked the roads and blocked the Uzhgorod TCC demanding the release of the detained clergymen.
