In Chernihiv Region, an UOC Community Was Fined for Alleged Unauthorized Electricity Consumption

The Commercial Court of Chernihiv Region has ruled to collect 115,984 UAH from the Holy Nicholas Parish of the UOC in Pryluky in favor of JSC «Chernihivoblenergo» for the alleged use of 13,045 kWh of electricity without registration through interference with the electrical network. This was reported by Suspilne Chernihiv.

According to the case materials, representatives of «Chernihivoblenergo» conducted an unscheduled inspection of the electricity meter, during which it was discovered that, allegedly, there had been unauthorized connection to the electrical network through interference with the wiring between the pole input and the meter. The issue was documented in an act, and a representative of the community signed the document with a note agreeing with the violation.

The message notes that this decision may be appealed to the Northern Appeal Commercial Court within 20 days of receiving it.

Earlier, it was also reported that on May 7, 2025, representatives of the OCU conducted religious services in the church of the Holy Resurrection in the village of Pereyaslivka, Chernihiv Region, which had been seized from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Only 14 people attended the “first service” of the OCU in the occupied UOC church, which was confirmed by a photo published by the OCU.
