Attackers set fire to the economic premises of the Bancheny Monastery of the UOC

On May 23, 2025, unknown attackers set fire to outbuildings on the territory of the Holy Ascension Bancheny Monastery. We are talking about buildings near a fish hatchery pond in the village of Vancikivtsi, not far from the monastery. This is reported by the UOJ.

«On one of the ponds, which belongs to the monastery and is used to grow fish for the needs of the monastery, for pilgrims, for orphans, two houses caught fire for unknown reasons. They could not have caught fire from a short circuit or bad wiring because they had no electricity. In addition, it was raining. The buildings were made of wood and burned down completely,» — the media reported.

As we reported earlier, on February 5, 2025, in the village of Yaroslavychi, Rivne region, unknown attackers attempted to set fire to the local church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Supporters of the OCU, who seized the UOC church back in 2019, are suspected of the crime, but cannot accept the fact that the community of the canonical Church has survived and built a new religious building.
