ОCU activist pressures judge handling Metropolitan Feodosiy’s case

Attempts to influence the Sosnivskyi court in Cherkasy, which is reviewing the case of Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, continue. One of the key figures involved is Davyid Pshenychnyi, who previously participated in the seizure of St. Michael’s Cathedral and was recorded on video wielding a firearm. This was reported by the «First Cossack» channel.

On his Facebook page, Pshenychnyi posted a message expressing his views on the court proceedings. His statements, however, are riddled with manipulations and misinformation. In the final part of his post, he addresses Judge Oleksandra Homeniuk, insisting that his actions are “not pressure, but responsibility.”

Additionally, he defends the activist demonstrations outside the court, the blocking of Metropolitan Feodosiy’s lawyers from entering the hearings, and aggression toward believers, claiming that these actions are “not attacks, but demands for justice.”

More than six months have passed since the takeover of the cathedral in Cherkasy, yet despite video evidence confirming his participation while armed, Pshenychnyi remains free and continues to threaten members of the judiciary.

Furthermore, representatives of the ОCU community in Cherkasy complain that clergy and believers of the UOC are not allowing them into the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church dedicated to the Nativity of Christ. The ОCU considers this church “theirs” because they had previously held an illegitimate territorial community assembly, during which they decided to re-register the UOC community in favor of schism. Subsequently, with the help of local authorities, they formalized ownership of the building for themselves.
