Islamists kill more than 30 people in Catholic church in Congo

At least 38 people were killed in an attack by Islamists on a Catholic church in Congo. It is noted that the attack was likely carried out by the Ugandan Islamist group “Democratic Forces Rebels,” which is supported by the “Islamic State.” This was reported by Sky News.

Local authorities reported that 38 people were killed, 15 were wounded, and several are missing. “The bodies of the victims are still at the scene of the tragedy, and volunteers are preparing to bury them in a mass grave on the grounds of the Catholic church,” – the comment said.

It should be recalled that on June 22, 2025, during the Sunday liturgy at the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah in Damascus (Syria), a bloody terrorist attack was carried out by a member of the radical Islamist organization “Islamic State.” As a result, 22 people were killed. The attacker stormed into the church, opened fire on the congregation, and then detonated an explosive device attached to his body.
