Head of the Phanar: "The war in Ukraine is a fratricidal disgrace for Orthodoxy"

The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, during a speech at the Meeting for the Fraternity of Peoples in Rimini, called the war in Ukraine “a fratricidal war — a disgrace for the Christian world, especially for the Orthodox Church.” He urged Christians to remain united in bearing witness to truth and justice, because “without justice there is no peace.” This information comes from the Orthodox Times website.
Bartholomew also reminded of “the need” to establish a common date for celebrating Easter: “To be convincing, we must celebrate the Resurrection of the Savior together.”
Mentioning the wars in Ukraine, Gaza, and the Middle East, the Ecumenical Patriarch emphasized that Christians are called to testify to justice, but at the same time possess an “unshakable weapon” — prayer, which “must never be forgotten.”
We also remind that Ukrainian political analyst Kostyantyn Bondarenko commented on the actions of the Ministry of Culture and the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” regarding the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which caused a serious resonance in the church community. The political analyst asserts that the so-called inventory of the relics of the venerable Kyiv-Pechersk saints is part of preparations to transfer the Kyiv Lavra under the control of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
