About 45,000 Hasidim are expected in Uman

Approximately 45,000 pilgrims from Israel will arrive in Uman for the annual Rosh Hashanah celebration, which is held by followers of Hasidism. The celebration will take place from September 22 to 24, 2025. This was reported by Suspilne.Cherkasy.
“I would like to officially refute the information spread by some media outlets around the world that the pilgrimage has been either canceled or banned. This is not true; no official decisions have been made in this regard. This year, we are expecting about 45,000 people. We are checking the condition of shelters and purchasing food. Any pilgrim or resident of Uman can come at any time to drink coffee or water. We are also purchasing books and various ritual items. It’s a very long list,” – said Anastasia Barishnikova, PR director of the Rebbe Nachman International Charitable Foundation.
We remind you that the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied information that appeared the day before that the Ukrainian government intends to restrict the traditional pilgrimage of Hasidim to the Ukrainian city of Uman for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. The Israeli Foreign Ministry assures that it has no information about a change in Ukraine’s position on this issue.
